A spiritual awakening occurs when you transcend the ego and realize that everything is connected. It also occurs when you discover the principles of Infinite Intelligence and allow them to guide you. Spiritual awakening is amazing because it leads to inner peace, a positive attitude towards life, and strengthens your connection with Infinite Intelligence.
Despite its advantages, spiritual awakening is challenging.
For instance, although you’ll know the importance of loving everybody, you’ll find it difficult to love highly egoistic people. You might find yourself hating and judging them because their ego-led life will always encourage them to do or say things you don’t like.
It will be hard for you to forgive these folks when they hurt you, and you might be resentful towards them when they succeed. This attitude is disastrous because it will prevent you from finding inner peace.
Besides this, after awakening, you might find yourself disliking the modern world. You’ll hate people for failing to protect the natural environment, and you’ll wonder why they can’t notice its importance. You’ll hate it when the people kill animals without caring about their extinction, build into water bodies, and convert forest lands to urban use. This hatred, if not controlled, can pollute your spirit and poison your soul.
Another problem with spiritual awakening is discovering that there’s nothing you can do to change the world. You’ll notice that you lack the resources needed to change the world and that few people are willing to listen to your spiritual advice.
To deal with such problems, you must pray for the world silently and learn to radiate love towards all. Also, enlighten those who need your knowledge and ignore those who don’t, for as Hermes Trismegistus once wrote, ‘the lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of understanding.’
Lastly, don’t hate the current condition of the world. Instead, realize that although it is getting worse day by day ‘its fate can be surrendered to God at ever-deeper levels, for it becomes obvious that all that is witnessed is actually in accord with Divine Providence and Wisdom.’ – David Hawkins
