Dragons Blood Incense Meaning
Everyone has heard the story of the great dragon.
The Dragon who hordes a pile of gold and treasure in a cave.
Only to destroy or burn to death, any fool who tries to steal its precious treasures.
However, as we know, humans are always creating tales of doom and dread.
Usually about things they fear, know nothing about… usually both!
Well, I am here to set the record straight and give some reason to the fallacy, origins, and myths behind the dragons.
A long time ago, in the ancient world, dragons were regarded as divine entities.
They were the keepers of the secrets.
The protectors of magick and wisdom.
I am sure, you can already see where this is going.
It was not gold and treasure that the dragons protected or hoarded.
But the ancient secrets and wisdom of the past.
And more importantly, that of the spiritual world.
Thousands of years ago, in ancient Mesopotamia, what is now modern-day Iraq, there lived the Ancient Sumerians.
The Ancient Sumerians lived in Sumer.
These great and ancient people created and contributed many of the tools and sciences that we use today.
Accounting, trade, writing, and many others.
But one of the greater contributions of the Ancient Sumerians was the Enuma Elish.
The Enuma Elish was the Ancient Sumerian story of creation.
The Enuma Elish begins with:
“When on high the heaven had not been named, Firm ground below had not been called by name, Naught but primordial Apsu, their begetter, (And) Mummu-Tiamat, she who bore them all.”
Meet my little friend Tiamat. Well actually, I call her Auntie (An T)
Yes, you read that correctly, Tiamat.
Tiamat was the great goddess of the ancient Sumerian world.
Tiamat was the original mother and creator goddess of all the gods and goddesses.
Tiamat was a dragon.
As the story goes on, Tiamat and the new young generation of Gods have a war and the spunky younger gods prevail.
At least, that’s how the story goes.
Remember, you can not kill a god or goddess.
In the end, the hero of the gods kills Tiamat and hides her blood in “secret places”.
In ancient Babylon, this hero-god was Marduk, son of Ea.
In ancient times, dragon riders were said to be those who had full control of a dragon.
The rider or master of this legendary and magnificent beast.
In reality, dragon riders were the ancient mystics.
Spiritual masters who were able to ascend on the wings of dragons to the heights of spiritual mastery and understanding.
The dragon was a metaphysical entity that allowed the Dragon Rider, or Mystic to acend the lofty and starry heights of power and understanding.
The blood of the dragon, or dragon’s blood, while not actually from the blood of a dragon, is used to aid the spiritual path walker in their ascension.
The aromatic, sweet-smelling scent of the dragon’s blood incense carries the Seeker upward.
Helping them to break free of the constraints of the physical world and dwell in the higher and upper land of the gods.
Sedum spurium is the botanical name for Dragon’s Blood.
The Sumerians were not the only ancient civilization to believe in the power and magick of dragons.
Or more precisely, ancient reptiles.
Reptilian energy or serpent magick was heavily used in Ancient Kemetic-Egypt as well.
The Serpent, Wadjet or Uraeus, was another form of Dragon-like energy.
It’s no coincidence that the Dragon is a very large reptile.
The reptilian energy is linked to the reptilian aspect of the human physiology and psyche.
The story of the Sun God Ra says that he fights the Serpent Apep each and every day as Ra descends into the underworld.
Ra also bears a Serpent surrounding the sun on his Crown (Chakra).
Dragons energy can be a powerful tool for the metaphysical or spiritual practitioner or spiritualist.
There are many secrets hidden all throughout the universe.
Accessing that hidden information can be as difficult or as easy as you make it.
The tools that you use should be symbolicially strong enough to help you reach the next level of your spiritual work.
Dragon’s blood incense, candles, prayers, rituals, and meditation can open doors to those secret places.
