Sagittarius Zodiac Animal is half man, half horse archer with a bow and arrow.
November 22nd to December 21
The Sun Enters The Fiery Sign of Sagittarius on the 22nd.
First thing we notice is that is also on the 21st. That’s one day shy of the normal 22nd.
But what does that really mean?
Winter months bring shorter days of light. So its no wonder, we have 1 less shorter day of this zodiac sign.
Is that really all?
What does Sagittarius really mean?
What does Sagittarius Zodiac Animal stand for?
What does a half-man, half-horse really mean?
Well it depends on who you talk to.
Ancient Sumerian and Egyptian
The ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia saw Sagittarius as a half-man with wings with a bow and arrow seen here.
The ancient Egyptians saw a lion’s head with the body of a horse.
But what does it really mean?
Sagittarius has to be one of the most confusing signs out there.
But not really.
The Sun Enters The Fiery Sign of Sagittarius
Like Capricorn, Sagittarius is a hybrid.
That is to say, it’s an animal and human merged together.
Just as Capricorn is a mountain goat and a sea creature merged together.
The last two months of the year represent the winter months, but not only that.
They also represent the descent into the underworld.
And not just some mythological Greek underworld.
Winter represents the earth’s transit and our own journey away from the life-giving sun.
And brings us closer to the windows dance of death and our transit into the spiritual world.
Our introduction into Winter begins with Fall and the rise of the Scorpio constellation (death, spiritual, and rebirth).
What is Sagittarius
Both the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians associated this astrological time with War.
It’s no wonder, Sagittarius carries a bow and arrow.
As everyone knows, I love to perform a meditation for each astrological shift and change.
However, Sagittarius was a little different.
I really had a hard time understanding this particular sign.
However, after a few Google searches, I finally learned what I was missing.
Sagittarius is a time of the Hunter in life and nature.
It is a time when we execute the skills and crafts that we have been sharpening throughout the year.
Mastering your craft and sharpening your aim and focus.
It is the time of year to loose your skill in the environment around you.
If the ancient Egyptians saw Sagittarius as a lion-headed centaur, that means it was a pretty ferocious beast.
However, if we know anything about the ancient Egyptians, we know they were all about balancing the beast and the human (As above, so below. As within, so without).
Regardless, the lion-headed centaur hunter would be one of the most ferocious and intimidating beasts of all time.
Sagittarius is a great and mighty Hunter.
Not only that, they are also great philosophers, teachers, spiritual and religious people.
Being the fire signs that they are, they can be very abrupt, outspoken, and even outright rude sometimes!
Sagitarrius is about honing your craft and becoming the best at whatever it is you do.
Our journey through the underworld reveals who we really and truly are.
It is the hardships in life that make us great and stand out.
